Try Timbuk2. I got a backpack from them about 6 years ago and work ems. It goes to work with me in all weather and hasn't torn or grown mold or anything. Mine has a padded laptop section in the main compartment. It's also water proof. Easy to clean. Seriously, I'll probably never have to replace this thing.

I was gonna say Brooklyn Industries bags, but it looks like they've gotten out of the messenger bag business. They're offering one bag and it's kind of meh. They used to have a bunch of different sweet bags and their build quality is good. Too bad.

The Timbuk2 bag looks good

Mystery ranch has some great options. I use my 2 day assault bag for pretty much everything.

Thirded. I ordered a custom pack from Timbuk2 a few years ago that I bring to and from work and I take literally all the items you mentioned with me. It's a great choice.

I bought an innesbag and I’m very satisfied with it.

Crazy horse leather, German buckles, British cotton canvas, durable construction, and thoughtful design.

They have lots of backpack/messenger bag designs for the city.

I abuse mine by overloading it with weight and taking it backpacking. It has held up well.

Pretty good I’d say. Unless you are really forcefully abusing the pack (rucking etc.) you really don’t need 1000D Cordura. The rest of the bag is pretty much bomb proof

Nutsac bags. I've had two for years. Great waxed canvas fabrics.

I have a small bag and one just big enough for an 11" laptop, but they make larger bags also.

I have a canvas backpack from Baggu that I use everyday for school and work with my laptop. It's all canvas except for the hardware, which is a pretty good quality metal. My gf had it for years before gifting it to me. I expect it to hold up a long time.

Chrome bags! I have the Citizen messenger as well as the Citadel backpack, and I use at least one of them almost every day.

I bought a Freitag F305 used 10 years ago, use it daily, and it still looks very much like when i bought it.. This is a work bag with a really good design, very comfortable, and lasts forever. Their bog standard messenger bags are fine too, but i prefer the padded laptop compartment and zips of the F304 to F306 designs. The colours aren't everyone's cup of tea, but i love that they are leather free and really durable
