Hello r/BuyItForLife. I'm here looking for good cables and chargers. The title says what types of cables I want. Requirements: good charging speed (from cable & charger), good data transfer speeds (from cable), shipping to Romania (cable and charger) and my house to not burn down (from cable, charger and the device). That's it. Thanks in advance for your help!

I like Anker stuff. They also have really great customer service too.

These aren't 'buy it for life' because tech often never is. I mean, you blink and they'll have like USB Z and your stuff is obsolete. But Anker stuff is great. Sleek and sturdy

That said, these by Anker have a LIFETIME warranty on em so knock yourself out. Also covers all the cables you mentioned in 1 cable. "We're so confident about PowerLine II's long-lasting performance that we gave it a hassle-free, lifetime warranty."

I personally love these for Onebag travels. I have 2 of these. These cover for me for my laptops, my audio interface and my phone. I cut down on a bit of wires after using these.

Another vote for Anker. I’ve had an Anker cable and an Apple cable in my car for the same amount of time, and the Anker cable is faring far better.

Another vote for Anker but just keep in mind, nothing tech related, including cables and chargers, will be BIFL.

Hands down Anker, I work IT and their stuff last a long time and is resonantly priced.

A let until I die. Have a portable charger from them I’ve used for 5+ years and it still charges my brand new iPhone x2, and has been dropped well over 100 times and can hold its charge for months. Their chargers are the same level of quality

I've been in using the same Titan power cable in my simi-truck for the last 3 years. They're expensive as fuck, take forever to get there, but when you have them I haven't had any issue yet.

Well USB-A to USB-C is always going to be lower quality than USB-C to USB-C. USB-A stuff is always an after thought because its essentially dead. Personally I would recommend getting a very good USB-C to USB-C cable and buying tiny adapters to switch to other older standards. USB-C PD now supports up to 240W, Amazon has UGreen 240W cables available. Essentially if you get this you can use this cable to charge any electronic device that has come out or will come out in the future.

Ok, should I get an adapter for Micro-B and USB-A, and use 2 adapters at the same time for data transfer? Except for 2 phones (iPhone 7 & Samsung S9), all of my phones have Micro-B. For charging, I can use only the Micro-B adapter, if I have a USB-C charger. 10 phones, both of my Bluetooth speakers and both of my old, garbage tablets use Micro-B. Also, I need a good USB-A charger (not power bank) for my iPod Mini. Any recommendations?

Do you do data transfer currently using USB-A to Micro-B with existing devices? You could probably do this using a wireless transfer app like Airdroid (android) if you really had to. Data transfer should still work with adapters, only USB-A to USB-A has issues since USB standard doesn't really support that. (think of older USB cables as being directional).

From the reply I can gather you are pretty against going USB-C for stuff. If thats the case I would stick to older Anker stuff for equipment. They basically make the best quality stuff in regards to cables, chargers, and portable batteries.

How, on a phone with Android 2.3.6?

I don't use them all at once, but I turn them on at least once a month.

A sort of recommendation; wireless chargers can be a good way to prolong the lifespan of the port on your phone. Although ports can be very durable nowadays, they are still mechanical devices that can wear out.

Good recommendation, but only one of my 12 phones has wireless charging (Samsung S9). And I can't transfer data with wireless charging. That's why I asked for cables.

I saw a lot of comments about Anker. Does everyone agree? Is Anker the best? If yes, can someone give me a link to a place that sells Anker cables and chargers in Romania? Thanks in advance!
