I know there are a lot of threads already, but my case is a bit particular. I broke both ankles a few years ago and since then I pretty much only use boots. I have a lot of boots of all kinds since it is pretty much the only kind of shoe I can use and feel 'safe' since my ankles never really fully healed. I had been checking for a pair of boots that are very very comfortable to use every day, from doing shopping, walking the dog, and office work. I have tested a few of the ones mentioned here like dr martens and red, but they feel to 'made for work' and not particularly comfortable. I read that they get better over time, but just won't want to spend a lot of money in a pair that probably won't be comfortable.
Basically my question is, what is the best pair of boots in term of durability and comfort I can get? particularly not for hiking or working.

Thanks!

I'm a big fan of my Danner Light II boots. Super comfy and waterproof.
I wear 'em hiking and in the office.
