Honestly though, for anyone wondering, pretty much any shop-vac style vacuum that's not absolutly abused will last an eternity lol. They're just so simple!

I've had the smoke escape from the motors of a couple of shop vacs over the years....

Haha, how do you figure a household vac would have fared?
J3ttf OP t1_irw9160 wrote
Most household vacuums like Shark and Dyson are tested to withstand 5 years. Henry is built to last 40

I can believe that...
the abuse that our one has had and it keeps on going.

I’ve had motor bearings go out on two shop vacs.

I have a backpack style and only for the actual backpack portion is pretty lackluster it'd be amazing in a house with lots of stairs. It was clearly designed for someone without a weak back and with some degree of thick clothing. If it had a better-designed strap system with more padding it would be really good and if it was cordless it would be the best thing ever lol. Also, in traditional shop-vac style it also has an exhaust port you can hook up to for blowing.

Wasn't there a vacuum like this on the Teletubbies? I swear there was.

I'm not very familiar to Henry's, but old vacuum's tend to use a lot of electricity. A modern one use about 75% less than these old ones.
J3ttf OP t1_irv4c0r wrote
This model is 900w and the new ones are 620w. Most old vacuums actually use a lot less electricity, but their motors are less efficient.

Guys I like Henry's but for carpets, doesn't the omission of a spinning brush bar make this not a good choice for carpets?

I’m a fan of canister vacs. They work better how I use them (get allllllllll the crevices every time). And endure.
Henry, the vac for whom dust is 80s cocaine!
