I have never had a microwave break on me. I have one that’s close to 20 years old; works like new other than a knob I had to replace from wear. Microwaves are very simple electronics. More feature is more shit that can go wrong. Keep it simple.
I have. I hooked it to 220 when it was only rated for 120.
We have had 1.5 break on us, the plastic door handle broke off the door and the buttons wore out, our newest one (the .5) the plastic is cracking all along the exterior and we hate the thing fucking loudest piece of shit we have owned, we hear it across the house 2-3 second SCREEEEEEEE x3 every 10 seconds.

Not convection (at least mine isn’t), but if you get a standard microwave Panasonic’s are the sheeeeeit. I believe they’re the only ones using an inverter to vary the power when you use different power levels, compared to other brands that pulse high power.
I've got a Panasonic microwave/convection/air fryer, and it's awesome
We have a Panasonic toaster oven and we really love it. We’ve had it for nearly a decade.
You are discounting other options, let's not do that. You can get a microwave...they are all rather BIFL by nature so pick one and buy it. They make toaster ovens in 894 different flavors and sizes that bake, toast, broil, air fry, etc., that can be used alongside a microwave. With a convection microwave you get two things: Microwave and oven. With a microwave and say a Ninja FT301, you get 12 appliances.
Hear me out: ditch the microwave, you don't actually need it. Get a smart convection toaster oven with dials (ie Breville). And I say this as a parent of multiple kids: you don't need a microwave in life.
Soup? Hot water?
Stove: An apparatus for cooking or heating that operates by burning fuel or using electricity.

I have a pretty inexpensive Galanz microwave that runs an inverter. It's amazing!
It may be a cheaper Panasonic inverter model in a new skin, idk. Because from what I understand they do seem to have the monopoly on the inverter market.

I almost mentioned this, too.
Just didn't wanna information-overload the poor guy. It's a big world out there.
