I have one. It’s well built, warm, and really comfortable in the winter. I’ve bought a few things from Boreal Mountain Anoraks (an almost embarrassing number of things: wool anorak, canvas anorak, wool blanket, a wool vest, and a canvas haversack) and the quality has been great on every single item. I’ve had the wool anorak for almost 4 years, worn it camping and as my winter coat when it gets cold and it still looks new.

No experience with those but I did look into the Micklagaard ones. They were pretty highly rated and used buy some military... maybe? Same sort of style.

I appreciate that there is another subreddit that could be useful. but I more so respect the opinions of the crowd in this sub. especially since I'm not rich so to me buying a 400.00 item is going to have to be for life

that's awesome

They are nice but just too expensive. Cheaper to buy a wool blanket and either make it yourself or find a cheaper alternative. Varustaleka make a blanket shirt.

Would recommend you check out - Dale of Norway products as well. They are excellent, expensive, but second hand - they can be a bargain.
