I don't know if we should be comparing and ranking addictions, but if we are I would put that pretty low down the list.

Have you either lost your job or made anyone else's life difficult because of it?

Addiction is addiction. If it's affecting you or others lives negatively, it's an issue. It doesn't matter what one is addicted to.

Everyone deserves a chance to be happy without unhealthy temporary fixes to cope with their existence.

It depends. Some people see themselves as addicts because they masturbate or look at porn at all. To me, that person has an unhealthy relationship with their sexuality. If they're out of control to the point of not being able to hold a job or do basic self care, it might be time for some self reflection and to consider some changes.

Like everything migration and discretion are key. Having an outlet is healthy. Knowing your body is healthy. I love she good R&R. But imo what isn't healthy are trends depicting unrealistic actions and expectation.

Ex: Tons of hardcore BDSM and the consumption of it. Vanilla can be sexy. You don't need to play hard to have fun, not should it be expected if all partners.

I'd it starts to impact your life negatively and take up your mind and time... Then it's addiction. Just as over consumption of food, social media, substances and more... Know your limits and play within.

Yes. Some are addicted to sex/porn/etc. , others substances, and some like to eat couches. All can be detrimental to the individual and others around them, and therein lies the issue. In my opinion, if it doesn't affect anyone negatively, it's no one's business except for the person partaking.

If you want to resist watching porn and you can't, that makes it pretty bad.

Porn has been shown to decrease libido, and lower testosterone.

It alters the way you view relationships becauae of how realistic it is, and your brain can't tell it's just a movie your watching or real life.

You unconsciously pick up on these bizarre body languages which is 80% of communication, and it causes women to view you differently because your giving off body language that isn't actually yours.

I work at a mental hospital, every single youth here (18 or below) has one thing in common, they all viewed porn regularly at a young age. Every single one of them.

I think it's a lot worse for you than we know.

I recommend /r/NoFap for countless accounts of how people's lives were changed when they stopped watching porn. My life included in that list. Literally every aspect of life improved when I began practicing semen retention. And I only watched porn 3 or 4 times a week before that.

If it's really a problem then it should be taken seriously. Convince them to get help. But there's worse things to get addicted to, such as gambling, drugs, and alcohol just to name a few. Porn addiction is still bad. But not as bad as it can be.
