I have Achalasia- basically my 'swallow' muscle seize up and my stomach sealed off. When it hits, I can not swallow anything, including water. It will last from 5 minutes to days. At 3 days, I am in the hospital on IV. Longest was 5 days. Terrifying. Just laying there, no energy. Waiting.
