I’m at the “old” point in life where it makes sense, it’s quite profound, mortality looms and time is running out

I can't sleep like I used to. As a teenager/early 20s I could easily sleep for 16 hours and feel fine. Now I'm pushing 40 I'm awake at half 7 every morning, and perpetually knackered

Oh and my shoulder is fucked

It hurts!! I worked in foundries, I did pipefitting, and worked on oil rigs. My body is trying to tell me enough is enough. Need 3 surgeries so I don't end up in a wheelchair. The money was good at the time. But I wouldn't do it again frfr!

Not even "old" old but realizing that doors begin closing to you. It's a simple fact of life of course that no one could follow all their dreams and whims let alone a small fraction of them. But still a piquant feeling of loss.

But oh well, death is likely to be pleasant or neutral at least. Might as well see the rest of life first.
