It you have a lot of life experience you can spot them immediately. I used to not be able to in my 20's and 30's. Now I can.

When they’re trying to describe something but you know it’s completely wrong. Knew a guy act my last job who was trying to describe to his wife how our equipment work. Not only did he not know what everything was, but the equipment he did know about he got the information wrong about how they work
