Incredible, really well done! Mediums you have to sculpt on top of having the actual art skill itself to make it look realistic is just impressive. Especially hard mediums like wood. Majestic =) 🐴

As I was scrolling up, the page stopped where I could only see the caption and the top two-thirds of the photo and I was, like, "what kind of messed up horse is that?" Well done, now that I've seen the whole thing.

My vote is for β€œWoodsy”. Beautiful work, how much is it, what s the cost to send to Kentucky (home of The Thorobreds, home of the Derby and horse heaven)?

I first thought the head was in an upright position, giving it a really derpy my little pony look with a mohawk as the jawline would be the snout xD. Looks awesome though.

Did you sculpt one of these at the Henry Clay Estate in Lexington, KY?

When you see it as a horse from the side: wow, that's really cool. Great texture.

When you see it as a horse from the front: one-eyed horse with Elvis hair and a cleft nostril commands me

Now that I re-examine my perspective, it’s very clearly a beautiful sculpture of a horse with it’s snout pointed downwards.

But at first glance, I swear it looked like a snooty alpaca with a pompadour.

Edit: now that I’ve read the comments, it’s clear I’m not the only one πŸ˜†

I was so confused originally thinking it looked more like a rhino with a mohawk, and then my brain must have corrected itself and it was then I saw the horse.

Nice work btw OP, looks really good.

I love it. Great job finding him in that wood.

If I owned him I would call him Elvis.

I love this so. I didn’t experience the illusion that others have mentioned: I first saw your post yesterday & it just made me happy, thinking of the sweet old horses I’ve known. Aside from being evocative, your form is so nice, both the shape and the texture. You might repost with several views. Thanks for sharing you hard work!
