What art I do: Quilling is an artform that uses narrow paper strips formed and glued on the edge. I specialize mainly in abstract pieces like these, but I also dabble in typography (I made my daughter's name piece for instance), and pets. I've created a number of other subjects as well.
For these abstract pieces, I use alcohol inks in the background for their nice abstract, flowing look and vivid colors. I have areas of varying density with the paper strips so that the alcohol inks still show through. The inks and paper strips work together to create interesting designs.
