Yep, I agree. Every time I do them I bite off more than I can chew detail-wise, but always worth it in the end. Good stuff!

Travelling on flying animal is more linked to som for me but i can see the ss ref too (i was soooo hyped by this part of the game)

The style is what sold it to me; your piece is evocative of the tapestries and historical illustrations from the SS world.

Oh i don’t know enough about the game, i’ll check the artifacts you can find through it! To be fair what i do is inspired by archaic art a lot so i can see how it gives that feel
