Bet if she wasnt hot or a guy the number of upvotes would be much lower

Hmm.. I get what you mean. I do hope, however, that the majority of the upvotes are because people like the way I draw. I’d love to do a little experiment however, to see what would be the result if I used a less generic reference. I’d appreciate your input :)

It kind of depends, because some disgusting things can have artistic appeal, but if it's something unattractive, bland, and uninteresting, no matter how good the artwork is, it won't really gain much attention. Unless you do something clever to make something bland appear interesting. Like the artist that makes soft looking pillows out of stone.

Most likely. But, the whole point of art is to be visually appealing, so a beautiful subject matter getting more attention makes sense.

That's not the whole point of art at all. It's one possible point.

There can be other points, but the point is to be visually interesting, for visual art.
Ged_UK t1_j218oue wrote
Visually interesting is definitely not the same as visually appealing. There's a big difference.

Semantics. We can argue that forever. I think it does. If you enjoy the look of gore or whatever, then that's visually appealing to you.
Feel free to think differently. I will not discuss this further. Goodbye.

What a shame. It's not about enjoying the look of gore, it's about an emotional response.
