Who’s to label this as a sketch or a doodle- why can it not stand by itself as its own piece? Yes the style is rough and it was quickly done but that was the mode of expression

I'm with you. I don't think of it as incomplete or a sketch. It's minimalst expressionism.

Exactly, imo the absence of color & details say so much more. I don't see this as a doodle or sketch.
