I really like the detail in the sheets. Everything in this painting seems so lifelike

You are welcome. Are you an artist by trade? If not, I bet you would be able to make a nice amount of money by selling your works

I’m doing a masters in fine art currently but I haven’t really started selling things yet, although I have been thinking about it. This might be what gives me that finally push to do it haha thanks!

As someone who knows nothing about art, could you enlighten me as to how a piece like this is made? Is there any reference, or is it all from a mental image?
It is an absolutely beautiful piece.

Hi, thank you so much, and sorry for the late reply! For this one I had a reference image that is a still from a very short sketch that was featured in a Norwegian children’s show from the early 2000s, and then I changed the colours and the background to what I thought would look better, and the ghost to the right has also been changed a bit, but the one to the left is mostly the same! For my other paintings I usually take the reference photo myself and then also paint from memory/my imagination to add things I’d like to see in the painting, but for this one I was just really enjoying that very short clip and wanted to paint it in a different way :)

You really captured a story in that body language.
I was also reminded of "frontier psychiatrist" for obvious reasons.
