Love seeing another collection of your art! Really enjoy the little details implying textures here especially, and the expressions are always strong. Plus the coloring really helps make it all pop! :)

> he got paid for it?

FTFY.

Although payed exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:

  • Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. The deck is yet to be payed.

  • Payed out when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. The rope is payed out! You can pull now.

Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.

Very creative and clean work! I'm curious how people more experienced with markers than me avoid that effect where the marker overlaps itself and looks darker in places. Is it just down to the brand of markers?

2

MrBrabbel OP t1_isz1eit wrote

Could be (i use copic markers) but i also use cheap markers sometimes). I draw small and after the markers (only base colour) i go shading with pencils.

i feel pretty guilty for spoiling deltarune... TWICE (reddit replied failed) but im going to say this in the least spoilery way possible while also giving you an answer that doesnt sound completely insane, since UNDERTALE and DELTARUNE chapter 2 are incredible games id highly recommend playing. but if you really wanna know, >!at the end of chapter 1 of deltarune, the "silent protagonist" of the game, kris, which deltarune mostly focuses on (e.g how the heck would you feel if you woke up the next morning, puppet of an eldritch horror using you as their character for their "game") rips their "SOUL" which in both undertale and deltarune is represented as a heart out of their chest and traps it in a bird cage and does something im not going to spoil.!< again, deltarune and undertale are both 10/10 games, with the best OSTs on a video game, ever, so i'd really recommend playing them. if you are going to, you should play undertale first! go into it blind!
