Long story, but my dad has been a school teacher and people remembered him fondly on this forum, but no mention of my mom until someone (my mom) said "What about his wife? She was a lovely woman," and all kinds of things that were good about my mom, including how she was in church every Sunday and how she was a talented pianist and writer, none of which was true.

I was one of the first to say, "No, I think you have the wrong person. She didn't play piano at all and was only ever in church when there was a funeral." Others attested to this, too, including saying a bunch of things I hadn't even known about, but all were pretty plausible. My aunt (mom's sister) even came on there and so did my aunt's ex-husband whom I hadn't seen in more than 20 years.

Next, she came on with a smear campaign against me, claiming I was not who I said I was, but it was too late for that. I'd already said enough on the forum for people to validate who I was, plus, I wasn't on there trying to say I was this great, wholesome person.

"Someone" (my mom) started making new accounts, all to say nice things about my mom and to agree with my mom, something that's impossible in real-life because none of it was true.

She made up this whole thing about how she tutors people in Bible study and claimed all these people joined the forum to help her out because they all know her, but they all still live in the area that the forum was based, while she lived in a far-away small town.

She put a lot of effort into the charade, too. For months, she was on there with several accounts having conversations with one another, but not very quickly. I'm assuming she had to log in as one, post something, then log in as the other, post something, then go back to the first one and post something, and on and on.

Then, when the defaults on the forum changed and showed 50-something accounts all from this small town, it was a dead give-away, and showed the depth of her deception. There were even more accounts than any of us would have guessed.

Around this time, my brother and my sister were also involved in the discussions. They joined to tell all of us (except my mom) that we were all sick to be picking on a harmless lady. It was really them, too, and not her pretending to be them. I had created a website that captured the conversations I had with her main account (I refused to talk to any of the sockpuppets) before she could edit it and say I was the one provoking her. I could see the number of visits my brother and sister made, where they came from, and when they visited.

It's still not to late to max out your retirement savings! You have till April 18. Then File an amendment on your tax return. And most importantly just communicate with the IRS. Do not ignore them! I made thaf mistake in my 20s.

I remember when I got my first Smash Bros. game. I was like 12, and I had pretty much only ever played Mario games up to that point. I ended up branching out to all the cool franchises represented (barring the M rated ones since I was 12) and I'm glad I did. Mario's still great, but thanks to Smash, I now play all sorts of other great games too.
